This stretch takes the south-easter with nothing between it and the water. Structures are rigged with full anchoring and, where the stand is open, a wind plan that puts the closed side into the prevailing direction. A low stretch tent handles an exposed West Coast stand better than a tall pole marquee.
Loose sand does not hold a standard peg
Much of the ground here is sand rather than soil. A standard peg pulls out of it under load. Sandy stands take longer pegs driven deeper, or weighted ballast where the surface will not hold at all. Tell us the ground type when you book and the right anchoring comes on the vehicle.
Industrial and commercial stands
Paarden Eiland, Montague Gardens and Ysterplaat functions are usually on hard standing, which removes the sand problem and replaces it with a loading one. Loading bays and after-hours access are arranged before the day.
